In the first work, I used the word ウバメガシ in my poem. Instead of using it for emphasis or otherwise, I note the fact that its a random scientific word that I simply do not know. The irony lies within the fact that I used the word in poem, yet have no idea what it is.
In the second work, I used チキチキ, the sound of a clock ticking to emphasize the sense of anticipation and waiting. I leave the phrase "hungry" at the end of the poem to leave the reader guessing what is going on until the end, thus adding a somewhat humorous aspect.
In the last poem, I pose the question of which is more delicious, rice or rice. I tried to make this a play on words because they in fact mean so similar things, yet are "culturally" different, thus the reason for using katakana for ライス.

I really like the wordplay in the last poem. I never understood why only curry rice used ライス instead of ごはん. Regardless, they both taste good!
